Devil’s Canyon Dam Truck Trail

This gradually sloping 7.5-mile route is easy enough for beginners and stunning enough to appeal to even the most experienced cyclists in your group. You will head from Highway 39 up to the Cogswell Dam for a shady ride without motor vehicle traffic. Pack a picnic and enjoy a relaxed trek into the mountains of Angeles National Forest.

Griffith Park Loop

This 9-mile route provides a glimpse of several iconic Los Angeles sights, including the city’s zoo and botanical gardens. For an extra elevation boost, take a side trip to Griffith Observatory. Visitors can make a day of it since you will find plenty to see and do in one of the state’s largest urban parks. Grab this trail at Crystal Springs and Los Feliz. While some roads in Griffith Park allow car access, others prohibit motor vehicles.

Ballona Creek Bicycle Path

This 6-mile route from Jefferson Boulevard in Culver City takes you all the way to The Strand in Playa del Rey, where you can extend your ride even further. The Ballona Creek ride is a Class 1 bike path, which means it is completely paved and separate from car traffic. Along the way, you will traverse the Baldwin Wetlands and Baldwin Mountains, with the chance to spot a variety of local wildlife and birds. This flat path is an easy choice for a family ride.
